Martin then connected the hardwood neck to the body with a mortise and tenon neck joint, allowing for abundant low-end resonance, and capped the neck with a Richlite fingerboard for ultimate fretting comfort and long-lasting durability. Though not technically a “short-scale” bass, this model clocks in at 24.9 inches, which, when combined with the Performing Artist neck profile, makes it easy for almost anyone to pick up and play.
